About The Role
Q HOTEL Dhaka is looking for an experienced and energetic Banquet Captain to lead banquet service operations and ensure the flawless execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, corporate functions and special events. You will supervise the banquet team, coordinate with multiple departments, and deliver exceptional service that meets the high standards of a five-star hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate banquet service operations before, during and after events.
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and clearly communicate all requirements to the team.
- Conduct pre-function briefings and allocate duties to banquet service staff.
- Ensure banquet rooms and function areas are set up according to approved floor plans and event requirements.
- Check tables, chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware and equipment before each function.
- Coordinate closely with Banquet Manager, Kitchen, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping and Sales & Events teams.
- Ensure food and beverages are served according to the approved menu and event schedule.
- Supervise buffet, set-menu, cocktail, coffee-break and banquet service.
- Maintain correct portioning, presentation, temperature and timing of food service.
- Monitor beverage service and ensure responsible handling of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Deliver high standards of guest service throughout every event.
- Attend to guest requests, special arrangements and service concerns promptly.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues to the Banquet Manager when required.
- Monitor service staff performance and provide guidance during events.
- Ensure proper service sequence and professional table-service standards are followed.
- Coordinate course timing and service requirements with the Kitchen.
- Ensure all VIP arrangements, special requests and dietary requirements are properly executed.
- Monitor event timelines and manage last-minute changes effectively.
- Keep function areas clean, organized and presentable throughout the event.
- Coordinate with Stewarding for availability and replenishment of service items.
- Ensure proper handling and care of hotel equipment, furniture and banquet supplies.
- Monitor inventory and report shortages, breakages or damaged equipment.
- Assist with banquet room setup, breakdown and post-event clearance.
- Complete required banquet checklists, event reports and shift handovers.
- Assist with billing verification and communicate additional charges accurately.
- Experience: 5-10 years
