We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who has spent a few years building production Python services and is ready to build AI-powered systems on top of them.

This isn’t about adding a chatbot to an existing product.

At Pipeline, we build cybersecurity intelligence products that process large, messy and sometimes adversarial datasets — DNS telemetry, security events, threat intelligence, dark web sources and other external risk signals.

The engineering challenge is turning that data into useful intelligence quickly, reliably, and with enough context for a human analyst to act on it.

Increasingly, AI is part of solving that problem.

You’ll work on both the backend services behind our security platform and the AI layer that sits on top of them.

What you’ll work on

• Build and maintain production backend services and APIs using Python

• Design data models and optimize queries for large security datasets

• Build ingestion and processing pipelines for threat intelligence and event data

• Develop AI features using LLMs, embeddings, vector search, RAG and tool-calling

• Design prompts, context pipelines and AI workflows that operate on real security data

• Build evaluation, quality and fallback mechanisms for AI-generated results

• Improve reliability through testing, logging, metrics and production debugging

• Work directly with our product team and security analysts to turn operational problems into features

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions

What we’re looking for

Required:

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience with Python

• Production experience with Django, Flask or FastAPI

• Strong REST API and backend architecture fundamentals

• Solid SQL and data modelling skills with PostgreSQL or MySQL

• Experience with asynchronous/background processing such as Celery, task queues or asyncio

• Practical understanding of LLM APIs, embeddings, vector search and RAG

• Git, Docker and CI/CD experience

• Basic AWS knowledge including S3, EC2 and Lambda

• A habit of writing tests and maintaining production-quality code

• Strong written and spoken English

• Ability to work on-site from our Dhaka office

Nice to have:

• Golang experience

• LLM/agent frameworks or model evaluation experience

• Kafka, Redis Streams, SSE/WebSockets or other event-driven systems

• Cybersecurity, SIEM, EDR, DNS, threat intelligence or log-analysis experience

• Infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes or deeper AWS experience

• Classical ML/model-serving experience

• Open-source contributions or technical writing

Why this role is interesting

You won’t just consume AI APIs.

You’ll help answer harder questions:

How do we make an AI system reason over millions of security observations?

How do we retrieve the right evidence before asking a model to make a judgement?

How do we measure whether an AI-generated security finding is actually correct?

And what should the system do when the model is confidently wrong?

In cybersecurity, those details matter.

You’ll work closely with our Tech Lead and security analysts, write production code every day, and gradually take ownership of larger parts of the platform.
