To manage local procurement and sourcing activities, develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensure timely availability of materials, and support cost-effective and efficient supply chain operations while maintaining required quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable local suppliers for materials, goods, and services.
- Manage end-to-end local procurement activities from sourcing and quotation collection to purchase order and delivery.
- Obtain and evaluate RFQs/quotations based on price, quality, lead time, payment terms, and supplier capability.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and cost optimization.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse, inventory, production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the MRP and inventory teams to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure purchased materials and products meet approved quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain proper procurement documentation, including RFQs, comparative statements, POs, invoices, agreements, and supplier records.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and service, and take corrective action when required.
- Monitor procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or delivery.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Use ERP systems and MS Excel for procurement transactions, analysis, reporting, and inventory coordination.
- Prepare regular procurement and supplier performance reports for management.
- Support contract and agreement negotiations with suppliers as required.
- Perform other procurement and SCM-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant discipline., MBA/Master’s in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field will be preferred.
- Skills: Local market and supplier network knowledge., Strong understanding of procurement policies and procedures., Knowledge of commercial terms and procurement documentation., SCM/Procurement certification will be an added advantage.
