Assistant / Senior Teacher (Chemistry)

South Point School & College, Banani is seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Assistant / Senior Teacher (Chemistry) to join our academic team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Chemistry education to students in Grades 7–12 following the Cambridge curriculum, with a strong focus on preparing students for IGCSE, O Level, and A Level examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons for Grades 7–12.
• Teach according to the Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, O Level, and GCE A Level Chemistry curricula.
• Develop schemes of work aligned with curriculum objectives and learning outcomes.
• Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific understanding.
• Apply effective Cambridge-aligned teaching methodologies and learning resources.
• Integrate technology and digital resources into classroom teaching.
• Prepare students for Cambridge examinations, including exam techniques, question-solving strategies, and effective answer writing.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments in line with Cambridge/CIE standards.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive, individualized feedback.
• Maintain effective communication with parents regarding students’ academic progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency across grade levels.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic activities, training, and professional development programs.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry from a reputed university.

Experience

Senior Teacher:

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Cambridge curriculum school.

Assistant Teacher:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and excellent communication skills may also be considered.

Additional Requirements

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge/CIE curriculum, assessment objectives, marking schemes, and examination patterns.
• Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively use technology and digital learning resources.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to students’ academic development.
