About the Position

The Asian University for Women (AUW) invites applications from outstanding faculty from Bangladesh to join AUW for a faculty position in Economics in the Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 Trimester. The mission is to educate and empower students to acquire a strong foundation for further undergraduate or graduate programs in Computer Science and related interdisciplinary areas, and to develop and deliver academically rigorous academic programs in Computer Science.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality courses in Computer Science, demonstrate teaching excellence, engage in research activities, and enrich the academic experience. Additionally, the position requires active participation in the academic programs and University through service and collaborative initiatives.

Expected to teach:

Select courses from Introduction to Computing and Programming, Introduction to Data Science, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Data Structures, Algorithms, Networking, Data Communications, Object Oriented Programming, Database Management Systems, Web Applications, Software Engineering, Mobile Apps Development, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Data Analysis and Visualization, Cloud Computing, Computer and Network Security, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Compiler Design, Computer Vision and Robotics. and more, depending on the area of expertise.

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

• Develop programs and the course curriculum
• Deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, and quizzes, and prepare assignments on the assigned courses.
• Teach 28 credits per academic year.
• Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students.
• Supervise students in developing and implementing senior thesis projects including guiding them in data analysis, thesis writing, and presentation of findings
• Attract research funding and engage in research
• Provide leadership and service on academic committees and academic initiatives
• Maintain office hours for students

Other Requirements:

• PhD degree in Computer Science from a recognized university
• Publications in prestigious journals and subject-matter journals /conferences
• Outstanding record of research accomplishments and a strong dedication to service, mentoring, graduate teaching, attracting external funding, and making an impact in multidisciplinary research
• A strong understanding of inclusivity and diversity in the classroom and beyond
• Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor position should demonstrate a strong aptitude for conducting high-impact research.

Desirable:

• Understanding of the liberal arts model of education.
• Experience or interest in working in Asia.
• Experience or interest in teaching at women-only institutions.
• Ability and willingness to teach students whose native language is not English
