Assistant Manager, Supply Chain (R&D, Purchase & Procurement)

We are looking for a strategic and commercial-minded Assistant Manager, Supply Chain to lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing strategies across our R&D and Production teams. The Assistant Manager will ensure high-quality material sourcing, procurement cost optimization, strong supplier negotiations, and the rapid commercialization of new product developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with R&D during new product development to source novel raw materials, active ingredients, and trial packaging while managing prototype sampling and scale-up feasibility.
• Lead end-to-end purchasing for Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), capital equipment, and MRO supplies to keep production running smoothly.
• Map global and local supplier networks to identify cost-effective material alternatives and establish multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Vet, audit, and onboard strategic suppliers while negotiating high-value contracts, credit terms, volume discounts, and service-level agreements.
• Monitor vendor performance using structured metrics for quality pass-rates, lead-time adherence, and overall cost competitiveness.
• Analyze material consumption and lead times to set optimal Reorder Points (ROP) and maintain safety stock to prevent line downtime.
• Track commodity prices and market dynamics to execute strategic forward-purchasing and cost-reduction (VAVE) initiatives without sacrificing quality.
• Manage import and trade logistics, ensuring full compliance with local regulatory standards, customs clearance, and LC requirements.
• Collaborate with QA, Warehouse, Finance, and Production teams to streamline material arrivals, invoice processing, and real-time procurement dashboards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related science discipline (Chemistry, Applied Science, etc.). Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management (CSCP, CPSM, CIPS) is highly desirable.
• 4 to 6 years of progressive supply chain experience, with at least 2 years in a senior executive or supervisory procurement role within FMCG, Packaged Food, Pharmaceuticals, or Manufacturing sectors.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced data analytics/Excel.
• Advanced negotiation tactics, strategic vendor management, deep understanding of import/export workflows (LCs, Customs), and cross-functional leadership.

Salary:
