Role Description The Assistant Chef is a full-time, on-site role based in Dhaka. This role supports the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and ensuring portion and presentation standards are met. The Assistant Chef helps manage inventory, check quality and freshness of ingredients, and maintain hygiene and safety standards in line with hotel policies and local regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with menu execution, coordinating with service staff, monitoring kitchen equipment, and helping train and guide junior kitchen staff when needed. The role also involves contributing ideas for specials or improvements and ensuring timely service during peak hours.
Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in food preparation, cooking, and plating across a variety of cuisines.
• Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and proper storage practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including during busy service periods.
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills for coordinating with chefs and service staff.
• Basic understanding of inventory control, portioning, and waste reduction.
• Completion of culinary training, certification, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in a hotel, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment is an advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
