Job Description

Company Introduction As part of the global VEON Group, we are expanding into the digital financial services market to serve a broader customer base and strengthen our role in Bangladesh’s digital ecosystem. Job Description

  • Serve as the Tier 3 technical authority for complex application failures across all payment, wallet, bank remittance, etc. channels in production, on a 24x7 rotating shift (rota) basis.
  • Analyze distributed traces, logs and metrics to isolate root causes across microservices, APIs, message queues and third party integrations, protecting critical journeys (login, OTP, e-KYC, transfers, settlement, etc.).
  • Lead technical resolution during priority one incidents and drive permanent fixes through exhaustive post incident reviews and problem management.
  • Validate operational readiness of releases (observability coverage, alert thresholds, rollback plans, runbooks) as non negotiable conditions of go live.
  • Engineer automation and self healing with Python, Bash or PowerShell to eliminate manual operational tasks.
  • Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 colleagues, author deep runbooks and feed reliability insights into capacity planning and product design.

Academic Qualification- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline from a reputed university.

  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, CKA/CKAD or cloud practitioner level will be highly preferred.

Job Experience Required- 6 to 10 years of intensive application support, site reliability engineering or backend development experience, ideally in payments, banking or telecom.

  • Demonstrated success operating within a demanding 24x7 rotational environment.

Required Capabilities- Core payment platform integration depth: SOAP/XML and REST API debugging against a mobile money core (transaction initiation, pre validation, status query flows) and platform portal operations.

  • Modern stack fluency: Java/Spring Boot code level debugging, Node.js services, API gateway (APISIX class) routes and WAF rules, Kafka topics and consumer lag, Redis state, object storage (MinIO class).
  • Kubernetes operations: rolling updates and rollbacks, ConfigMaps and Secrets, image promotion, plus PostgreSQL/Patroni failover awareness.
  • Payment domain depth: session and OTP/PIN lifecycles, JWT flows, signed webhooks, bank trust account and MT940 SFTP reconciliation, aggregator integrations (bill pay, add money), e money creation and destruction.
  • eKYC journey troubleshooting: OCR, liveness and face match failures, NID verification, maker checker QC queues.
  • Strong SQL for transaction investigation and log query languages across ELK/Grafana stacks.
  • Engineering practices: Git PR workflow, CI gate interpretation, feature flags, Postman collection replay, correlation ID tracing.
  • Process ownership: CAB changes with rollback, Go/No-Go participation, PIR/RCA authorship, DR switchover execution with vendors, audit ready evidence. Maintain Incident management, change management and regular operational process.
