Role Overview

We need content for our blogs, case studies, website and service pages, location pages, outreach marketing, press releases, and many more.

We’re using paid AI content generators like Claude to generate informative content. However, we need experienced editors and proofreaders who can identify common AI writing patterns—such as unnatural word choices, repetitive sentence structures, generic phrases, and robotic expressions—and turn the content into natural, human-sounding copy.

The goal isn’t simply to correct grammar. We need someone who understands what actually needs editing and what should be left alone.

Our content needs to feel natural, useful, credible, and aligned with our brand voice while maintaining the quality and consistency expected from a professional Local SEO agency.

Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread AI-generated articles, blog posts, website content, service pages, location pages, case studies, and marketing materials.
• Improve grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, readability, and overall flow.
• Identify and remove repetitive, robotic, generic, or unnatural language.
• Rewrite awkward AI-generated sentences so they sound natural and professionally written.
• Ensure content is clear, engaging, informative, and appropriate for the target audience.
• Maintain consistency in tone, style, formatting, terminology, and brand guidelines.
• Fact-check information when necessary and flag potentially inaccurate or misleading claims.
• Review content for clarity, logical flow, relevance, and unnecessary repetition.
• Ensure SEO-focused content remains natural and user-friendly instead of sounding keyword-stuffed.
• Work closely with content and SEO teams to maintain consistent editorial standards.

Requirements

• We don’t need writers who “think” they can also edit/proofread.
• We need professional proofreaders or editors who have real-world editing experience, preferably in an office or professional work environment.

Why is that important?

Because experienced editors know how to distinguish between an actual writing problem and a sentence that is already perfectly fine.

Editors without sufficient experience often try to “fix” sentences that don’t need fixing while overlooking the parts that genuinely sound awkward, repetitive, or unnatural.

We’re looking for someone who can make meaningful improvements without unnecessarily changing good writing.

If you’ve edited human-written content before but haven’t specifically worked with AI-generated content, you’re still welcome to apply. The ability to recognize and improve AI-generated writing is something you can develop quickly if you already have strong editorial judgment.

• Proven professional editing and proofreading experience.
• Strong understanding of English grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and readability.
• Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify robotic, repetitive, or AI-generated writing patterns.
• Preferably an English-medium educational background.
• A good IELTS score is a plus.
• Previous experience with SEO or digital marketing content is a plus.
