Role Description The Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Chattogram, Bangladesh. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including posting journal entries, reconciling bank statements, and updating general ledgers. The role includes preparing invoices, tracking accounts receivable and payable, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and collections from clients. The Accountant will assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and help monitor expenses related to container operations and logistics. Daily tasks also involve supporting audits, maintaining compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, preparing necessary documentation, and collaborating with operations and management to provide timely financial insights. The role requires close attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a busy, service-oriented environment.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of basic and advanced accounting principles, including general ledger management, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) and comfort working with digital financial tools and databases.
• Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliations.
• Ability to assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Familiarity with local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit support processes in Bangladesh.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with operations, management, and external partners.
• Relevant educational background such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
• Previous experience in accounting or finance, ideally in logistics, services, or related industries, is preferred but not strictly required.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Chattogram, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
