Accountant

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. The Accountant will handle day-to-day financial transactions, including recording journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and cash accounts. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, preparing price quotation, monitoring accounts receivable and payable, supporting payroll processing, and ensuring accurate documentation of inventory and production-related costs. The role will assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, managing tax and VAT-related records in line with local regulations, and supporting internal and external audits. The Accountant will collaborate with operations and procurement teams to track expenses, support budgeting and cost control, and provide financial reports to management for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts receivable and payable management, and cash/bank handling.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems, and solid MS Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of Bangladeshi tax, VAT, and compliance requirements, with the ability to maintain accurate statutory records.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with production, procurement, and management teams.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila and manage workload to meet reporting deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA part-qualified) are an advantage.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or packaging industry accounting, especially cost and inventory accounting, is highly beneficial.
